Ari Lennox has had an amazing year so far. With the success of her debut album Shea Butter Baby one would think she’d be rolling in awards by now. However, that’s not the case and she expressed her dismay after coming up empty handed at this year’s Soul Train Music Awards. She was beat out by H.E.R. in the category of Best R&B/Soul Artist, Lizzo for Best Album and Summer Walker for Best New Artist.
