Jonas Kilpatrick, the youngest of the Kilpatrick children, has issued a video plea to President Donald Trump asking for his father’s freedom. This is the second attempt from Jonas to get a Presidential pardon for Kwame Kilpatrick. He wrote and released a song in 2018 called #TooMuchTime as part of the Free Kwame Project. Kwame Kilpatrick is currently serving year seven of a 28 year sentence for convictions on 24 counts which include racketeering, extortion, and bribery.

It’s reported that in the video, Jonas was reflecting on how much time his father has missed in his life. He highlights that his father has missed puberty, high school graduation, his entrance to college and other fatherly moments. Jonas asks President Trump to grant his father mercy, and commute Kwame Kilpatrick’s sentence. So far, all of the appeals for Kwame Kilpatrick have been denied and  Kwame’s anticipated release will take place in the year 2037.
