Just two days ago we lost a pioneer in cinema. Legendary director John Singleton passed away and left the nation in heart break. He delivered so many iconic movies such as Boyz N The Hood and 2 Fast 2 Furious, and started so many big names in Hollywood’s career such as Taraji P Henson. It was only fitting that many celebs have spoken out on the loss of this prolific filmmaker but it might be safe to say that for President Barack Obama brought it on home.

Yesterday Barack Obama took to social media and said ” “Condolences to the family of John Singleton. His seminal work, Boyz n the Hood, remains one of the most searing, loving portrayals of the challenges facing inner-city youth. He opened doors for filmmakers of color to tell powerful stories that have been too often ignored.”  We couldn’t say it any better Mr. President. We couldn’t say it any better. RIP Mr. Singleton and may your films forever be life changing.
