Radio One is celebrating Black History Month by honoring local modern day history makers.
New Era Detroit (N.E.D) has plans to empower and build up the black community in Detroit. With several chapters across Detroit, they aim to create Black owned and operated schools, banks, grocery stores, hospitals, law offices, recreation centers, and more!
Since its start in 2014, New Era Detroit has worked diligently with the mantra “our communities are only as strong as we work to make them” in mind. Through their work they have been able to study neighborhood issues and develop solutions through their many programs including Elite Young Queens, Elite Young Kingz, Hood To Hood, Meet In The Streetz, Buy Black Tour, and many others.
New Era Detroit continues to provide resources to black communities locally while also evoking change in the minds of people not only locally but worldwide.
