Child support is always a hot topic of discussion both in the streets and when it comes to our celebrity friends – and it looks like athlete, Matt Barnes, has had enough!
First came the win in his custody case against his ex wife, Gloria Govan, and since then he has now filed to have his monthly child support payments reduced. The sole custody agreement is that Barnes has his 10-year-old twin boys, and Govan has them every other weekend and Wednesday evenings for dinner, seems fair right? Well Barnes says yes, except for the fact that he still is responsible for paying $20k on child support per month.
Of course the amount was set in stone while he was still playing in the NBA and making ALOT more money. Word on the street is that Barnes said he’s making about $150,000 per year, and with that salary in conjunction with child support calculations – his payments should be around $5,600 per month.
Barnes said, “We know the system is broken. It don’t cost $60,000, $50,000, $40,000, $20,000 to raise no children. We all know that. Most of these women are out here buying cars, buying bags, taking vacations off that child support money.” It’s not like he hasn’t made it known how he feels about Gloria prancing around and wasting money intended for his kids – what are your thoughts?
