Rapper Mac Miller was pronounced dead today of an apparent overdose TMZ reports, the rapper was 26 years old and had a steady history of substance abuse and mental illness which was capitalized by his recent high-profile break up with singer Ariana Grande and a DUI which saw Miller wreck a vehicle and attempt a hit-and-run. Things had been looking up for the spitter however, on August 3rd the rapper released his fifth studio album “Swimming” and was riding the wave of its national success.
Throughout his discography Miller’s tumultuous battles with drug addiction and with mental illnesses are well documented, dating back to 2015, the rappers underground mixtape “Faces” was riddled with themes of suicide and introspective lyrics that hinted at just how much he was going through in his personal life. Fans had thought that these demons were behind him with the glowing positivity of his latest effort, but unfortunately it was quite the contrary for Mac.
Mac was supposed to start a nationwide tour for his critically acclaimed album “Swimming” just next month.
