will.i.am. pbs great performances

After watching Nas perform with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, PBS pretty much has us hooked when it comes to watching our favorite artists in concert. Next up is will.i.am, who reunited with his Black Eyed Peas counterparts for Landmarks Live in Concert: A Great Performances Special. The concert premieres nationally on Friday, April 20 at 10 p.m. on PBS, and will be available to stream the following day on the PBS website and on PBS apps.

will.i.am. considers London his second hometown, so it was a natural choice to link up with his Black Eyed Peas family, to perform their juggernaut hits, including “Let’s Get It Started,” “I Gotta Feeling,” and “Pump It.” Pop stars Eva Simons, Pia Mia, and Lydia Lucy of The Voice UK join the producer onstage for this one night only special event.

Although will.i.am. is already a Grammy, Emmy and Latin Grammy-winning artist, his PBS concert puts him in yet another elite group. Past Landmarks Live in Concert performers include Alicia Keys at various historical landmarks in New York City,  country star Brad Paisley at West Virginia University,  the classical music treasure Andrea Bocelli live at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio, and legendary rockers Foo Fighters at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Created by director Daniel E. Catullo II, Landmarks Live in Concert gives global music superstars a chance to perform at landmark locations of personal significance around the world.

Is it possible that this electric reunion could ignite a new Black Eyed Peas album in 2018? The group released a new track, “Street Livin’,” about the broken prison system and a call for gun control in January. Their last full-studio album, The Beginning, was released back in 2010.

Along with Lydia Lucy live from London’s Royal Albert Hall, watch the group perform their 2003 hit “Where Is the Love?” below.
