Now, she’s opening up about her near death experience after childbirth!! TSR Staff: Kyle Anfernee Instagram: @Kyle.Anfernee It's been a few months since Serena Williams gave birth to her daughter, Alexis Olympia, and the tennis star is opening up about how she almost lost her life after giving birth. ___________________________________ According to @TMZ_TV, Serena had to have an emergency C-section on Sept. 1st after Olympia's heart began to drop during contractions. ___________________________________ The C-section was a success but when she spoke to CNN.com she said "what followed just 24 hours after giving birth were six days of uncertainty." ___________________________________ Serena said she suffered a pulmonary embolism, which is Aa condition in which one or more arteries in the lungs become blocked by a blood clot. ___________________________________ Her condition got so bad that she ended up popping her C-section wound open, from excessive coughing, and had to have an emergency surgery. ___________________________________ "The doctors found a large hematoma, a swelling of clotted blood, in my abdomen.
