This year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day carries a notably strong significance, partially because it’s the 50th anniversary of his murder in Memphis, Tenn., but also because of the deafening political unrest that’s spread across America—particularly in the last year. King was and remains an unapologetic voice of civil rights still felt in movements seeking equality for Black folks throughout history. While his work continues to be done, CASSIUS honors MLK on what would have been his 89th birthday.
