Sickamore, real name Randall Medford is not a well-known name within the music industry in comparison to his counterparts such as No ID, Jermaine Dupri, etc. But if you are a fan of hip hop more specifically rap you will know that despite not being a big household brand; Sickamore plays a low-key integral part of some of the rap game’s heavy hitters such as YG and Travis Scott to name a few.

Becoming a senior exec at Interscope Records; Sickamore is still behind the scenes helping up and coming artist working with some of the hip-hop’s future game changer. Sickamore sits down with The Culture to discuss his passion and journey within the music industry. The Brooklyn native discusses his transition from selling bootleg mixtapes on Canal Street that then led to his A&R gig at Atlantic Records at the age of 21. and much more including losing Nicki Minaj as a client in her beginning stages.
