“Reality is wrong, dreams are real”- Tupac Shakur

The long-awaited biopic All Eyez On Me looking at the rap legend Tupac Amaru Shakur releases today. 2Pac is arguably one of the GOATS of not just rap music but music in general. Last September marked 20 years since Tupac’s tragic murder on the Las Vegas strip. Nevertheless, 2Pac’s work, poetry, and music is embedded in today’s music around the world. He cemented his legacy within this culture, in his short time here. Moreover, today Friday June, 16th 2017 fans will finally be able to watch this well overdue bio pic right in time for the rappers birthday.

It is only right that the GOAT of hip hop’s biopic be directed by a GOAT in the music industry: Benny Boom. Mr. Boom dominated the music industry in terms of videos throughout the 2000s all the way to 2010. Some of his most prominent music videos are Hustler Muzik, Like Glue, Chain Hang Low, Window Shopper, Made You Look, What Happened To That Boy? Benny Boom’s catalog is extremely large; displaying his versatility but his in-depth knowledge about hip hop, the culture, and the movement. These are the same reasons why this overdue biopic has finally arrived. Originally from Philadelphia Benny Boom sits down with Noisey.Vice.com to talk about Tupac, and why he decided to take on this biopic.
