“These EPs are important to us because it’s the canvas for me and Party to showcase our talents differently than what the fans are used to hearing and to the style of music people are hearing from other artist’s at the time”- G.Ry
We have not heard a lot from the OVO member since his last project PX3 released back in 2016. It was a rough time for PND and it showed. Furthermore, one cannot argue that in PX3 PartyNextDoor definitely explored and embraced is Jamaican Caribbean roots with songs such as “Not Nice”, “Only You” which gave the album the hits that fans are used to from PartyNextDoor.
But PND surprised fans by releasing Colours 2 EP on SoundCloud on June 5th. The four song EP definitely is PartyMo’s style discussing where he is in his right now; focusing on his current and past relationships and the growing pains of being and engrossed in this industry. G.Ry the co-executive producer who is apart of the OMO camp states that the Colours 2 EP was curated some time ago but they were looking for the right time to share it with eager fans.
G.Ry sits down with Complex.com to discuss the making of Colours 2, how Drake’s More Life influenced its release date, and what PartyNextDoor and himself have cooked up for this summer.
