It is no surprise that Sean “Jay-Z” Carter has been making the headlines with the signing of artist to his Roc Nation music label such as Lil Wayne, Jim Jones, and Freeway. With his music roster expanding by the minute it is no wonder that the rap, fashion, music, sports management, and alcohol industry (launching the new Ace Of Spade champagne retailing at 850 dollars a bottle) the CEO is now diving into the television industry, as he should, or he would have eventually.
According to Fader.com National Geographic has approved Jay-Z’s six part documentary analyzing race and inequality in America. Mr. Sean Carter is teaming up with The Weinstein Company that will take a look at the race relations in modern-day America. Race With Jay-Z will be a six episode doc series that takes a close look at the criminal justice system, wealth, inequality and of the outcry for change and activism using the strength of the social media era.
Of course, this is not Jay-Z first documentary series, this will be his third documentary installment collaborating with the Weinstein Company. The two have partnered to create Time: The Kalief Broder Story for Spike, and have doc series in the making about Trayvon Martin coming in 2018 through Paramount. Sean Carter can now add film maker and activist; creating change through film, is there anything that this man cannot do?
