DETROIT – DTE Energy in collaboration with Fellowship Chapel, will be hosting a special Faith-based Supplier Immersion Day, Tuesday, December 15, 2015. The purpose of this event is to provide opportunities for diversity-owned businesses to learn how to conduct and to partner with larger companies who do business with DTE Energy. This is a special procurement conference in which several DTE Energy department Directors will be in attendance to provide information and guidance about how to do business with DTE Energy. The Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony, Pastor of Fellowship Chapel and President of the Detroit Branch NAACP said:

“This is a most significant event. It is not one of fluff but one that will have the real stuff in regards to doing business and providing opportunities for minority suppliers. So often minorities and women are given the line that we can’t find any. We are pleased that DTE Energy is reaching out to identify many.”

There has been an overwhelming outpouring of interest in this event. Nearly 200 vendors and suppliers will be in attendance. Areas of opportunities included:

Construction, Computers, HVAC Systems, Event Planning, Caterers, Various General Utility, Construction, Plumbing Services, and much more.

This is a part of a continuous partnership between DTE Energy and the faith-based community. Other organizations will also be in attendance. Among them are: the Detroit Branch NAACP, Booker T. Washington Business Association, Michigan Black Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Public Service Commission. The event runs 1PM-5PM, and will be held in the Fellowship Chapel Dome and Conference Center located at 7707 W. Outer Drive.
