The always-smooth Sam Smith is contributing to the upcoming Bond movie soundtrack.
The Grammy Award-winning singer shared a quick 15-second snippet of his Spectre contribution “Writing’s On The Wall” via Twitter last night.
From what we can hear, “Writing’s On The Wall” sounds like a typical Bond-themed track featuring classic string and brass instruments matched with a robust arrangement.
In a statement regarding his participation on the Bond soundtrack, Sam said:
“This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honored to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”
Sam has no plans on recording a follow-up to his debut album In The Lonely Hour anytime soon, but you can hear him on Disclosure’s new Caracal album this Friday.
Spectre will hit theaters on October 26. The full version of “Writing’s On The Wall” will drop Friday, September 25.
