DWSD’s Water Board Building Closes for Emergency Repair

WHAT: The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department’s Water Board Building (WBB) at 735 Randolph is closing by 10:30 a.m. today, August 19, 2015, in order to make emergency repairs. Two (2) water main breaks surrounding the building are causing water to leak into the basement. The power to the building must be cut immediately so that repairs can be expedited.

The Customer Care center at 735 Randolph will also close, but two other Customer Care Locations remain open (see below) so that DWSD customers may conduct business. The 24/7 automated phone system will remain available during the repairs (313-267-8000). The WBB will reopen for business on Thursday, August 20, 2015.
