Detroit- Detroit’s City Council unveiled a new curfew to be discussed on the June 16th meeting.
Today on the Mildred Gaddis Show, Mildred Gaddis alongside National Action Network Michigan Chapter President Rev. Charles Williams urged Detroit residents to attend the curfew hearing to get more information on what has been proposed and to see which way the council members may be voting.
The meeting will be in the Coleman A. Young Municipal Building at 2p.
Listeners of the show called in with mixed feelings, residents of Detroit are strongly against the curfew while suburban listeners believe the curfew is needed and will be effective.
The old curfew called for all the four day 12 hours lock-down of minors during the hours of 6am-6am. The new plan shortens the curfew to 6p to 6a on the days leading up to the fireworks and then for a full 24 hours on the day of the fireworks
Detroit City Council has yet to disclose the vote date for the curfew.
