DETROIT CITY COUNCIL TO HOST EVENING COMMUNITY MEETING
IN DISTRICT 3 ON MAY 19
Detroit residents in District 3 and neighboring communities may share their concerns and discuss any community-related issues at the City Council’s evening meeting on Tuesday, May 19. The meeting is from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the American Serbian Memorial Hall, located at 19940 Van Dyke Ave. at E. Outer Drive.
Citizens and community organizations have the opportunity to identify specific concerns, addresses of problem locations, or other community-related issues for inclusion on the meeting agenda prior to the meeting. Individuals or groups can also request to have discussions or public hearings at the evening community meeting on issues related to their neighborhoods. Requests for discussions before or presentations to the City Council should be made to the Legislative Policy Division (LPD) staff at (313) 224-4946.
Representatives of City departments will be present to note complaints and explain departmental plans and policies. Also, interpreters for hearing-impaired residents will be present if requested at least 48 hours in advance. To make a request, please call LPD staff at (313) 224-4946.
Please note, in order to better ensure the safety of all participants, the Executive Protection Unit of the Detroit Police Department will conduct security screenings of all persons attending the meeting.
