Lil Wayne Is Willing to Stay With Cash Money and Birdman…If The Price Is Right
Lil Wayne will stay with Cash Money and Birdman IF they ante up the money he’s owed … in fact, we’re told if Cash Money antes up, Wayne has no choice but to stay.
Sources involved in the case tell TMZ … Wayne feels Birdman’s decision to avoid paying him is nothing more than a power play. TMZ broke the story that Wayne is suing, and a central claim is that Birdman has consistently stiffed him over the last year.
There are 2 payments that have irked Wayne — he says he was owed $8 million when he went into the studio to record “Tha Carter V” in December 2013, and another $2 mil when he completed the album last month.
We’re told the hope is that Universal — which distributes Cash Money records — will step in and earmark the $10 mil for Wayne. And we’re told Universal is already putting pressure on Cash Money to settle.
If Cash Money pays Wayne the $10 mil, it would essentially eliminate any breach of contract. That means Wayne would have no legal basis to ask out of the contract. Even though Wayne’s suing for $51 million, most of that is predicated on future lost profits which would not be an issue if they settle.
As for the release of “Tha Carter V” … even if the case settles the power would be in Birdman’s claws.
Ludacris Got Full Custody His Daughter
Ludacris just got what he was after in family court … the judge just gave him primary physical custody of his 1-year-old daughter.
The decision comes after baby mama Tamika Fuller bitterly testified Luda didn’t want the baby when he found out she was pregnant, and even tried to negotiate an abortion by throwing 10K her way.
But sources connected with the rapper tell TMZ … the judge reviewed the report from an independent expert as well as the testimony and concluded Luda was the more fit parent.
Luda tells TMZ, “I am gratified that the judge found me to be the most fit and proper parent to have primary physical custody of our beautiful daughter.”
Benzino Addresses Arrest for Carrying Loaded Gun at Airport
Former Love & Hip-Hop cast cast member Benzino was arrested last night at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport after the rapper, publisher and reality star was found traveling with a loaded 9 millimeter handgun in his luggage while going through a security checkpoint.
According to TMZ, Benzino was traveling to Los Angeles when the gun was found with seven rounds of ammo in the chamber. He was arrested and transferred to a local jail and eventually released on $3000 bail.
Benzino has since addressed the arrest on his personal Instagram page, saying it was a simple mistake that tons of people make all the time.
Guess Who’s Coming To “Love And Hip Hop Atlanta”
Watching Nikko Smith or Nikko London, or whoever the hell he was, on “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” was like watching a snake-like predator slither in and slowly wreck havoc on Mimi Faust’s life. And though she invited him in willingly, there were several occasions where we wondered why she couldn’t see what we saw.
And even though it took a while and it produced a sex tape, that union is, thankfully, finished. But it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to say that same thing for Nikko’s tenure on “Love and Hip Hop Altanta.”
According to Mimi Faust herself, not only is Nikko coming back for the new season of LHHATL, he’s bringing along his wife. She confirmed the news during an interview with Cotten Kandi.
Yes, remember last summer the news broke that the whole time Nikko was dating Mimi, he was simultaneously married to a woman named Margo (or Margeaux…if you want to be fancy) Simms? And Nikko didn’t deny it. Instead, he discussed it openly in an interview with Vibe.
Kenya Moore Posts Photo of Cease and Desist Letter From RHOA Costar NeNe Leakes
So nasty and so rude! The drama between NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore is just heating up.
The two Real Housewives of Atlanta stars, who have been feuding on and off for years, took their ongoing issues a step further this week. Model and actress Moore, 44, took to Instagram on Tuesday, Jan. 27, to share a legal document that takes the fight to the next level.
The Instagram photo shows a typed document with a header reading, “RE: DEMAND TO CEASE AND DESIST DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS.”
“Mrs. Leakes has learned that you have engaged in making false, destructive, and defamatory statements,” the letter to Moore reads. “These statements have been made directly, by implication and innuendo during television broadcasts and through social media and the BravoTV blog. You are hereby directed to cease and desist making any and all false and defamatory statements, which are injurious to her character and reputation.”
“Your postings on BravoTV have been false, malicious and ostensibly made with the intent to cause damage to her reputation by exposing her to public hatred, contempt and ridicule, and injuring her in her trade and/or profession,” the letter continued. “Particularly, your statement was made with the intent to directly injure and defame Mrs. Leakes and the perception of her in the broadcast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), her brand as a member of the cast, and her brand in the entertainment and celebrity industry in general.”
Despite the serious tone of the letter, which Moore maintains was sent by legal representation for Leakes, the controversial RHOA star did not seem phased by the document.
“I guess this is @neneleakes way of saying happy birthday!” she captioned the Instagram, referencing her recent 44th birthday on Jan. 24. “#RHOA #HypocrisyAtItsBest #byegirl #SheTriedIt #SoNastySoRude.”
While Leakes, 47, did not respond directly to the Moore’s post, she tweeted soon after the photo of the cease and desist letter was shared.
“The Thirst Is Real!” Leakes wrote. “They need me for press because they can’t get none.”
