Jayru Campbell, the former Cass Tech High School football star who body-slammed a security guard, was sentenced today to seven months in jail for violating probation.
Campbell, 17, who asked Judge Timothy Kenny not to give up on him, was given credit for 98 days already served in jail and ordered to attend anger management classes. It was the first of two scheduled court appearances this week for Campbell.
“Your honor, I’m a young man. I made another mistake, another incident. I grew up in a violent home you know, physical and verbal abuse. I ask that you just stay with me, don’t give up on me,” Campbell said before he was sentenced today in Wayne County Circuit Court.
