The Michigan United Detroit Pastoral Alliance for Change presents:

Ferguson to Detroit: A Conversation About Police and the Community

Race Riots In Detroit In 1940On Thursday night, the Michigan United Detroit Pastoral Alliance for Change will  explore the current state of the relationship  between police and the community they were meant to serve and protect.

Even as there are calls for more police oversight following the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, a new consent

agreement has lifted federal oversight of  Detroit police after 11 years. Was this premature or is Detroit now a model for

police conduct nationwide? Are there ways the community can be more involved in law enforcement? What challenges do you face  in your neighborhood? What improvements have you seen?

We need your input as we explore the state of community policing in Detroit and look for ways to better our relationship.

Please join us.
