Back in July he earned an offer from Cleveland State and on Sunday night McFolley received another offer this time from the hometown Oakland Grizzlies.

At this point, I think it’s safe to say that Oakland is realizing what Cleveland State and Florida A&M have realized which is that McFolley is a talented young man, which is why I say Oakland is smart to offer this young man early.

At 6-foot, McFolley has plenty of quickness and he has shown that he has the versatility and the ability to play both point guard and shooting guard at the next level. Besides his versatility, McFolley is also a pure shooter, who can shoot consistently from just about anywhere on the perimeter. If that’s enough, the lefty combo guard has also added a nice floater to his game and improved his defense.

Although he is new to Detroit Western’s basketball program, take into account that McFolley is coming off a great season with  Mt. Clemens High School, where he played under head coach Jermaine Jackson. If that’s not enough McFolley has had great off-season, while playing on a loaded 1Nation team, which is why more and more coaches are starting to inquire about McFolley.

If you ask me, I think McFolley is only going to get better during his time at Detroit Western, not to mention that he will help Detroit Western to do plenty of great things on the court this season.

In fact, writer Branden Hunter of and, recently named McFolley and his fellow back-court teammate Gerald Blackshear as the No.1 high school basketball duo in Detroit, even stating that Detroit Western could be the best team in the Detroit this year.

1. Western 2015 5-11 SG Josh McFolley and 2015 6-7 SF Gerald Blackshear: The funny thing about these two topping the list, is that both are newcomers to the city. Transferring in from Mt.Clemens, McFolley and Blackshear give the Cowboys an upgrade at their respective positions. McFolley is undersized, but can shoot the lights out, while Blackshear is still raw, but will cause mismatch problems with his size. Along with junior point guard Brailen Neely, Western might be the best team in Detroit.

Overall, I would say remember the name Josh McFolley because I can guarantee you that you will hear his name more often.
