SOUTHFIELD MAYOR BRENDA LAWRENCE ENDORSED BY THE POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF MICHIGAN AS THE BEST CHOICE TO REPRESENT THEM IN CONGRESS
Law enforcement organization adds to the momentum going into the closing weeks of the primary. Polling shows Lawrence as the preferred choice among voters.
Southfield, MI – Mayor Brenda Lawrence has been endorsed by the Police Officers Association of Michigan as the best candidate in the race for the 14th district congressional seat. The City of Southfield has consistently seen crime reduced under the leadership of Mayor Lawrence for the last six years.
The latest endorsement news comes on the heels of a June poll showing Mayor Brenda Lawrence leading in a male dominated field of candidates. The latest poll was done by nationally recognized Lake Research in Washington, D.C.
“We believe Mayor Lawrence is the right person at the right time to fight for us in Congress,” says Ken Gradowski of the Police Officers Association of Michigan. “She is a strong supporter of the police community, cares deeply about protecting the rights and safety of officers and will be a valued ally in Washington.”
Lawrence, the only mayor in the race, says she will focus her energy on securing more cops grants to put more police on the street. She is also a champion of gun control laws.
“I love the men and women in blue and the people behind the scenes who support them,” says Lawrence. “I will work hard every day to make sure police officers get the tools and support they need from the federal government.
We are going to win this race. I am going to make sure the needs of every day working people such as our police officers are front and center.”
As the leading candidate in the race, Mayor Lawrence has developed a 10-point Urban Agenda plan which includes more action to end the scourge of gun violence. This is another reason why a majority of polls show Lawrence as the most popular choice among primary voters.
