With a new album in the works, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz recently revealed what mega hip-hop star he still has on his collaboration wish list.
Despite working with handfuls of stars including Kanye West and Lil Wayne, the artist formerly known as “Tity Boi” singled out one New York veteran.
“It’s probably no secret that I wouldn’t mind getting in with Hov,” Chainz said when asked who he would like to collaborate with in the future. “I think it would be kind of cool.” (Complex)
Last summer, the rap star said he did not want to rush a joint effort alongside Young Hov or OutKast’s Andre 3000.
“For people that I’m huge fans of like Jay Z and Andre 3000, I feel like [there are] certain times in my career to do these songs,” 2 Chainz explained. “You don’t want them to be too early — you want them to be movies, you want them to be events. So for Me Time, I have a few features but I’m really showing my ass on this.” (MTV)
Days prior, Deuce said a conversation with close pal Kanye West persuaded him to reconsider trying to add Jigga to 2013’s Based On A T.R.U. Story II: Me Time.
“I see who Hov rocks with. Hov rocks with people who he respect and who has glimpses of trap on their resume. I’m a recovering d-boy. I’m a recovering d-boy and he is, too,” Chainz said in an interview. “I do have something I thought would be cool for this album, but I got to talkin’ to ‘Ye. I’m like, ‘Ye, what you think about putting Hov on this one? He was like, ‘Me Time,’ in all caps. He just told me just to go hard on n*ggas.” (“Whoolywood Shuffle”)
Earlier this month, brief and to the point, Chainz announced a new project is on deck via his Twitter page.
“Workin on B.O.A.T.S III,” Chainz tweeted February 4. (2 Chainz’s Twitter)
