DETROIT, Mich. (Hot Headlines) — After numerous reports surface, the Detroit Tigers confirms that last night they made a blockbuster move, trading Prince Fielder for Texas Ranger Ian Kinsler.

Detroit Tigers President David Dombrowski said “We are fortunate to be in a position to acquire a quality and proven player in Ian Kinsler“.

In January 2012, Fielder signed a nine- year deal, totaling $214 million. The Tigers are set to pay the Rangers $30 million to close the trade. According to sources, the Tigers thanks Fielder for his contributions to the organization.

The Tigers will reportedly save approximately $76 million for the swap.
