Young Money’s Drake has taken fans a step closer into his personal life, revealing at the ripe age of 25 he finally received a high school diploma.
Drizzy broke the news of his accomplishment Wednesday (October 17) night on Twitter.
“97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school!,” he tweeted.
“Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND” (Drake’s Twitter)
Back in 2011, the platinum-selling rapper revealed he gave up school to financially support his family.
“My mother was very sick. We were poor, like broke. The only money I had coming in was off of Canadian TV, which isn’t that much money when you break it down,” Drake said referring to “Degrassi.” “A season of Canadian television is under a teacher’s salary, I’ll tell you that much. It’s definitely not something to go f*cking get.” (Complex)
He is known for referencing not making it in school on various records.
The 25-year-old Young Money star has been vocal in the past about not making the grade, rapping in “Crew Love” that, “I guess we’ll never know what Harvard gets us/But seeing my family have it all/Took the place of that desire for diplomas on the wall.” (MTV)
The rap star is currently working on new music and a third solo album.
The “Ice Age: Continental Drift” voice cast member is now preparing to release his third album. Back in April, he said to Billboard that the new album would be different from the previous one “Take Care”. He revealed, “I think my mood will be reflected in the tempos I choose for the music.” (Ace Showbiz)
