R&B star Chris Brown is reportedly under fire by animal rights organizations upset with him for breeding pitbulls as his latest business venture.

One of those upset organizations includes PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

“There is no such thing as a responsible breeder while wonderful dogs are being put down in animal shelters across the country for lack of a good home. This is a moneymaking scheme, and Brown will count the suckers who fall for it as he counts the money on the way to the bank. Shelters will count the bodies in the barrel. As Justin Bieber, Kellan Lutz, and Rocsi Diaz say, “adopt, never buy.” (Rumorfix)

In addition to PETA, SPCALA, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles, has steped forward to voice their displeasure as well.

As SPCALA president Madeline Bernstein says: “There is no reason to breed and produce more Pit Bull puppies when there are Pit puppies waiting for homes in every shelter in America. Furthermore, as some of these dogs suffer from and are victims of their owner’s misuse, they can be even harder to place.” (RumorFix)

Reports of Brown’s pitbull breeding venture began bubbling last week.

No matter how many groups protested against Chris Brown’s sale of dogs and how he is going to keep selling them, there will always be plenty of people who are willing to pay $1000 a dog. Apparently Chris sold out of the puppies within a few minutes of the public finding out about them and he now has plans to sell more dogs but at an even higher price of $2500 a dog. (Opposing Views)

Despite the accusations and heat, Brown’s camp has denied the breeding claims.

Chris Brown was reported breeding and selling puppies for profit, prompting animal rights activists to voice their protests. But Brown’s representative denied that it was a business, saying the singer sold the seven pitbull pups so that they can find good homes. A publicist for Brown released a statement to straighten things up, saying the puppies were part of a litter birthed by his family’s dogs back home in Virginia. “He loves animals, especially dogs,” said the rep.
