Looks like Jadakiss is throwing subliminal shots at Detroit up and coming emcee Boldy James. Let’s give you the back story, Boldy James released his Consignment: Favor For a Favor The Redi Rock Mixtape on February 27th. Since then, the kid has set the scene on fire obtaining rave reviews from The Source Magazine, meeting with top A&R execs, performing on stage with the likes of Asher Roth and claiming a set on this years SXSW. With that said it is safe to say he is definitely on the radar of holding a spot in the next Freshman list.

At the end of March, Boldy James and his management team @CedLouie (@regoshyt on instagram) tweeted instagram photos from the Roc Nation offices citing a “Great Meeting”, which was then followed up by photos of Boldy recording in studio with legendary producer Alchemist. This set the internet on fire with speculation of a possible signing and major collaboration.

On April 3, Jadakiss sent a tweet out announcing his CONSIGNMENT mixtape release and then followed up with a second tweet stating that CONSIGNMENT is “strictly for live men not for Freshman”. If the name wasn’t a bite off of James, the release date is also on the 27th implying that the possible ‘freshmen’ he mentions is Boldy.

Bring it full circle, Jadakiss broke into the scene 10 years ago with his debut solo LP, Kiss the Game Goodbye. Although it featured a handful of bangers including “Put Ya Hands Up” and “None of Y’all Betta”, the project is most memorable for its Alchemist-produced street anthem, “We Gonna Make It,” featuring Styles P. Being that Kiss has recently been under the radar and not heavily pushed by the label, I think it is safe to say Jadakiss could be feeling the pressure of an up and coming talent such as Boldy James and the potential he has in taking over the game that he is trying to get back. A collaboration with the producer that put him on the map doesn’t make the situation any better, not to mention Boldy and his management team are rubbing shoulders and making moves with A&Rs from Kiss’ label Roc Nation.

Now this could be a coincidence but the streets of Detroit are buzzing and many are angry with Kiss for the possible subliminal blow. Stay tuned.
