Grammy-winning singer Rihanna has stepped forward to kill rumors and speculation suggesting she is romancing it up with Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher.
Despite a detailed account of RiRi linking up with Kutcher recently, the singer said she is currently single.
At a London press conference for “Battleship,” a reporter used her one question with the pop star to ask about the alleged rendezvous. After meandering around about Ri’s fans and their love for her, she eventually got to her point: Would she get any visits from Kutcher while out promoting the film? The singer’s response? Well, she wasn’t amused. “Wow, how disappointing was that question,” she said in a video posted on the website. “I’m happy and I’m single, if that’s what you’re really asking.” (MTV)
Last week reports suggested RiRi and Kutcher have been an item for months.
“The flirting began as soon as Rihanna and Ashton met and swapped numbers,” a source tells The Sun. “That moved on to texts and arranging to meet. They snuck off to a Santa Monica hotel a few weeks ago. They are two single people having a fling, so thought it would be best to meet in secret. Rihanna has told friends he’s funny and cute. Both of them love a good time and think they’re too busy for anything serious just yet. She’s starting to enquire about Kabbalah sessions with his rabbi.” (Lime Life)
A few weeks ago, she discussed her status as a single woman.
“I’m not looking, [but] I would not tell you that [being single] is something to enjoy. Single life is just so overrated. It sucks. You always want to be single when you’re in a relationship, but it’s no bueno,” she tells Jonathan Ross. As for why the beautiful pop star wants to find a man sooner rather than later, Rihanna reveals, “I think that I have such incredible experiences that, you don’t want to live your life and meet someone; you want to share your life with someone. That’s what I’m missing right now.” Rihanna’s list of things she’s looking for in a man isn’t a long one; in fact, it’s quite simple: “I’d love to date someone cool, fun … funny.” (RumorFix)
Last fall, Young Money’s Drake gushed about out his brief affair with the R&B hottie.
“I guess I thought it was more [with me and RiRi]. That was the first girl with any fame that paid me any mind. You spend days reading about this person in magazines. All of a sudden you have this number-one song and you’re at some birthday party and there she is. And you’re just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some sh–ty-a** hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That’s just how it happened.” (Elle Magazine)
