Still on tour and riding the huge success with his recent album Blueprint 3, Jay-Z is starting to put the pieces together for his next LP.
Although he hasn’t given any details about when fans can expect to see the album, he does have a few ideas in mind for the project, and he says that he already has a hit song to build on.
“I didn’t really start yet,” said Hov while discussing the release date for the upcoming album to MTV News.
“I got a couple of scraps and I got a couple of ideas. I didn’t really go into the studio yet. I’ve been toying with ideas and direction and things like that. I got one crazy record. To be honest with you, it’s crazy. I got one and we’ll build from there.”
During an interview in late 2009, Jay-Z claimed that the new album would be his “most experimental” to date.
“It’s not gonna be a #1 album,” predicted Jay. “That’s where I’m at right now. I wanna make the most experimental album I ever made.”
Jay-Z has been on almost every major event stage over the past year from his performance at President Barack Obama‘s Inaugural Ball to being the opening act for Super Bowl 44. He starts the North American portion of his Blueprint 3 tour on the 22nd in Houston, and he just recently recorded “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)” with Rihanna and Bono in support of the Haitian relief effort.
