In a statement released to the media, the owners of Seldom Blues say they’ve shut the restaurants doors.

Seldom Blues, which opened in June 2004, has been operating under bankruptcy protection since September 2009. The owners say the financial problems in Detroit and the downsizing of the shops, offices and employees in the Ren-Cen are behind the closure.

The restaurant’s owners say they will now concentrate their efforts on their two other restaurants, the Detroit Fish Market @ Paradise Valley and Detroit’s Breakfast House & Grill.

Seldom Blues workers will be given jobs at the other restaurants.
