50s boy Floyd Mayweather Jr. also asked fans to keep him in their prayers. “Please keep 50 Cent in your prayers he is in the hospital and he is extremely sick…we will remain positive,” Mayweather said yesterday on Atlanta’s V103′s Ryan Cameron show.

DJ Drama spoke to XXL magazine about his friend last night, saying that 50 Cent is expected to be back on his feet soon.

“First they wanted to keep it quiet, but he’s not a quiet guy,” DJ Drama explained. “He should be cool. It’s nothing that serious.”

50 Cent also sought to assure fans that his much-hyped release would still be out on May 22, despite his health issues.

He then took to twitter this morning to let his fans know that all is right in his world:

PD: Are Floyd and 50 Cent good fathers?

Josie Harris : I hate to say it but yes Floyd is a good dad. The kids love him and are in Vegas with him right now for the Cotto fight.

Shaniqua Tompkins : 50 is a good provider, but a good father? No. He hasn’t been to one of his son’s games. In fact, the last time he saw his son was December. When we were together he helped raise my daughter along with our son, but when we were finally over it all stopped. He was no longer a father to his son. He thinks financially providing equates to being a dad, but it doesn’t.

PD: Josie, how’s your relationship with Floyd? With all the cheating and domestic violence, do you forgive him?

JH: Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a d***. I have forgiven him, I’m over it. I did my s***. I’ve hit him over the head with a Tonka truck when I found out he was cheating on me. We had a pretty volatile relationship. Anyone who knows us, knows that. For him to put another ring on another chick’s finger, then come over to my house and try to control me and who I’m having sex with (C.J. Watson)… I mean that’s just him. She ain’t the only one that got a ring. He the ring master, there’s a couple people that got a ring. He’s just about that life. I didn’t deserve the abuse, my kids didn’t deserve to see that. We have gotten into to it before but what was most disturbing is that my son had to get help for me because had no idea how long it was going to last. Floyd’s bitch-ass friend was watching the whole time as he put his hands on me, he even tried to block my kid from leaving.

PD: How long was the violence in you and Floyd’s relationship going on?

JH: It started from the beginning, not the very, very beginning but it escalated. We started feeling like we were each other’s possessions. If I wasn’t violent with him, I’d get violent with the b*****s.

As rappers, both Jay-Z and 50 Cent have battled it out on the charts but now the two Hip Hop moguls turned businessmen have found a new platform to compete with one another on and that is the Facebook gaming platform.

For his Facebook game titled 50 Cent’s Blackjack, 50 Cent linked up with Game Show Network (GSN) Digital to create a virtual casino where Facebook users can challenge their friends or play the games dealer.

“I am excited to partner with GSN Digital on this venture to create an unparalleled social gaming experience for my fans,” 50 Cent explained to Hip-Hop Wired. “50 Cent’s Blackjack is filled with fun twists and innovative features that is sure to provide hours of entertainment.”

Unlike 50 Cent’s Blackjack, Jay-Z’s Empire will take more of a Sims-like approach where Facebook users can quite literally create their own empires as they work their way from “hustler, to entrepreneur, to business mogul.”

While 50 Cent’s Blackjack is up and running on Facebook, according to Complex Jay-Z’s Empire is currently in its beta testing stage.

G-Unit leader 50 Cent may not be on speaking terms with ex-member Young Buck, however, he is vocally disclosing his problems with Buck Marley’s assets getting auctioned off.

According to reports, Fif is asking for Buck’s assets to stop from hitting the open market.

Attorneys representing 50 Cent and his G-Unit Records say a recent motion to sell Young Buck’s intellectual property in a bid to pay his creditors, which we previously covered, doesn’t disclose the specific assets up for grabs. That’s a problem for 50 Cent, who signed Young Buck to his label in 2004, who says their still-standing recording agreement covers just about all of the IP. As a result, the rapper behind such hits as “In Da Club” and “Candy Shop” is asking a bankruptcy judge to block the sale until they can work out just what Young Buck is–and isn’t–allowed to sell. The rap executive may have a point as it turns out G-Unit could own all of Buck’s music.

According to 50 Cent, his label owns 100% of all rights of recordings Young Buck did for G-Unit and has the exclusive right “to distribute, reproduce, and authorize adaptations and all performances in whatever form.” Attorneys say that includes Young Buck’s 2010 studio album, “The Rehab,” and any recordings released since, even the songs released independently of G-Unit. But that’s not all, 50 says. Young Buck also granted G-Unit rights to use of his professional name, trademarks, portraits, logos and likeness, including “a perpetual and exclusive publicity right” to use his past or current recordings o promote records. G-Unit also says it alone can create and host Young Buck’s official website. And an exclusive song-publishing agreement with Universal Music (which filed its own objection) and 50 Cent grants them the exclusive right to administer and publish Young Buck’s songs. Recently, the Southern rapper hinted at his G-Unit contractual requirements possibly coming to an end.

“I’ma be honest with y’all. Right now, finally, we’re having some kind of negotiations with what we’ll be able to do as far as the G-Unit situation. So y’all will be the first ones to hear but I’m able to tell you the wait is over. It’s definitely over. I don’t want to put a time limit on it, but the wait is absolutely over, and we’re just trying to figure out what’s the best situation for us far as where am I gonna go. I don’t think I’m going to be able to complete the last few albums I have on G-Unit. But hey, at the end of the day, it is what it is. The past is the past and we’re living in the present.” (Back On My Buck Sh*t)

A few weeks ago, Buck said he wanted to get back on speaking terms with G-Unit.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve had any kind of conversation with [Lloyd] Banks, [Tony] Yayo, 50 [Cent], anybody really through that camp over that way,” Buck told DJ Whoo Kid in an interview. “It’s been even a long time since I heard your voice to even have a conversation and we having it on air, live for the people. … At the end of the day, we’ve made history and I would never not consider not being a chance for us to make history again if ever given the opportunity or chance. My thing is, at the end of the day, we only get older out here in this situation, in life, in itself and the older I became, the wiser I became at the same time.” (Shade 45)

The Urban Daily spoke to DJ Drama about his involvement in the Coors Light Search for the Coldest MC, why it took so long to get him and 50 Cent together on a Gangsta Grillz mixtape, and if Ice Cube will ever get his own Gangsta Grillz.

TUD: When judging, what are you looking for in these artists?

DJD: Looking for the package, you know. We’re looking for the coldest MC. I don’t want someone to come to the table and necessarily have a good song or good hook, but really have bars. What this competition is about is lyrical abilities, it’s about the basis of being an MC. More than anything that is what I’m looking for. Definitely, stage presence is important. Songs are important but more than anything, I’m looking for those bars.

What is it like working with DJ Khaled and Ice Cube?

It’s great! I’m a student of the game. I’ve been a fan of Hip-Hop since day one. Ice Cube, at one point in time, was definitely one of my favorite MC’s, I grew up on him. So it’s an honor to share a platform with him. We ran into each other a few times thought the years and the respect is mutual. We were definitely talking about searching for the coldest MC and I can’t really see someone more qualified than Cube. Cube can hang with the best of them. Khaled is one of the best DJs to touch the planet.  He just went to the top of the food chain. I don’t think you could get better judges than that.

Do you guys ever have difference of opinion about who’s hot and who’s not? When it comes to rhyming and things like that because all of that is subjective.

Of course. We often butt heads. At the end of the day, we all have different opinions. There are some things we agree on and some things we disagree on. Like I said, at the end of the day, what we’re looking for is somebody that is really lyrically ready and can hold up to be the coldest and have the opportunity to be a face or fixture in the Hip-Hop game, get somebody that can influence another generation.

You’ve worked with new artists before, what did you value more their style or their substance?

Everything varies, everyone is different. I hit up artists for different things. I’ve worked with artists that have worked with the top MC’s of the game, and other artists that have been some of the best song writers and best hook men in the game. Every artist is different and i think that was one of the reasons why Coors brought me on board, myself to represent them, especially for the coldest MC because I’ve dealt with many different artists at different points in their respective careers.

Besides looking for the coldest MC for Coors, what else are you working on?

I’m actually working on a new album coming on this summer called Quality Street Music. I just shot my first video for the first single off the album called “We In This” featuring T.I., Young Jeezy,  Ludacris and Future. That video will be coming out shortly. I’m out here promoting my album definitely with some help. We’re  touching New York City, Atlanta, Philly, Chicago. I’m on my campaign as always.

Word is you and 50 are doing a Gangsta Grillz mixtape. What took so long?

I don’t know. We discussed it maybe like 5 years ago, but it just never came about. Then Iran in to him and I kinda  joked with him about it like, “When’s our tape coming?!”  Next thing I know, I see a tweet that said, “I’m working on my first Gangsta Grillz.” It’s ironic that it would take this long, seeing that both parties–myself and 50 Cent–are kinda like very important in the mixtape world. I came up in the generation of mixtapes. And from what I was able to accomplish from my brand and Gangsta Grillz mixtapes took it to a whole other level. I don’t know what took so long but I’m excited, I think it’s gonna be really dope and I think it’ll be special for the game.

Speaking of Gangsta Grillz, why haven’t you and Ice Cube done a Gangsta Grillz?

You know that’s another great question. And again, we would run into each other for years and talk about it. I mean let’s be real. Ice Cube is a very busy man as I am myself. If he’s not working on an album he’s working on a movie. So when I see Ice Cube, while we up there judging and looking for the coldest MC, I’m gonna ask him two questions; what’s up with the Gangsta Grillz and what’s up with the next Friday. Thankfully, with the help of Coors, we will be seeing each other a lot.

That’s a tough question. I’ve really been blessed throughout my career. It’s really hard to point out what the best part of it is. It’s something that I love. So being able to make a career, feed my love ones, travel the world, and see places that I never expected to go is probably the best thing.

The worst thing, that’s hard, I’m hoping on of the worst things will be having to pick who the coldest MC is because we’re gonna get so much talent. That’s a terrible thing you have to do, having to pick one great artist over another great artist. But I’m up for the challenge. I hope nobody’s feelings gets hurt in the process but may the coldest MC win.

Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy is making headlines this week with reports claiming he has earned the right to call himself the wealthiest hip-hop artist in the music industry.

Based on Forbes Top 5 list of 2012, Puffy tops close contender Jay-Z.

Diddy is the closest to becoming a billionaire, leading the pack with a net worth of $550 million. The Bad Boy Records founder has remained a mainstream mainstay for 15 years thanks to his knack for self-promotion. Next up is Jay-Z at $460 million. Unlike his fellow Forbes Five members, Jay-Z still churns out music and goes on tour–most recently with pal Kanye West–adding to his considerable war chest. He sold his Rocawear clothing label for $204 million in 2007 and signed 10-year $150 million deal with Live Nation in 2008, and also holds stakes in the New Jersey Nets, his 40/40 Club chain, ad firm Translation, cosmetics company Carol’s Daughter and other businesses. Other close contenders include Interscope Records’ Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.

Dr. Dre ranks third with $270 million, doubling from a year ago thanks to a major sale. In August, handset maker HTC paid $300 million to buy a 51% stake in Beats Electronics, the company founded by Dr. Dre and Interscope chief Jimmy Iovine in 2008. Birdman clocks in at No. 4 with a fortune of $125 million. He cofounded Cash Money Records with brother Ronald “Slim” Williams two decades ago, inking very favorable $30 million distribution deal with Universal in 1998. Rounding out the Forbes Five is Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson at $110 million. The Queens-born rapper earned $100 million on the sale of his Vitaminwater stake in 2007–and tens of millions more from touring, record sales and clothing–but spent freely on cars and renovations to his mansion, formerly owned by Mike Tyson. After getting named the first hip-hop artist to likely hit a billion bucks last year, Diddy downplayed the hype surrounding his buzz.

“To be honest, on that list, I was on the cover of Forbes back in ’98,” Diddy explained in an interview. “I been on that list. I don’t really get caught up into the list. I think people think that I have that money actually sitting at home in the basement…It’s really like if I sold all my companies, and I take pride in [building] something as a black man that’s worth that much…To everyone calling me for a loan today, I do not have that money today! … It helps inspire people and it shows the power of hip-hop.” (MTV)

Last spring, Cash Money’s Birdman slammed Forbes for projecting his wealth at $100 million.

“I don’t know how they tally up,” Baby said in an interview with Uptown Angela referring to Forbes’ list.”To my knowledge I thought it was down. They said I made a $100 million dollars. I don’t know where they get that sh*t from. I’m banking in more than a $100 million. That’s a low number for a n*gga like me. But it’s cool. For anybody to recognize anything is respected. We know what to do. The goal in our life and my life is to be a billionaire. I’m flipping hundreds. I ain’t that far. I’m about eight steps.” (Urban Radio NO)

Details regarding 50 Cent’s involvement are scarce. However, we do know he will join an already star studded cast. In addition to Stallone, 50 Cent will act opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Caviezel, Vincent D’Onofrio, Amy Ryan, and Vinnie Jones. hopefully, he doesn’t wind up playing a prisoner or something stereotypical.

50 Cent has announced the release of his upcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape The Lost Tape with DJ Drama.

The G-Unit honcho, often credited for popularizing mixtapes on a mainstream level in the early ‘00s, is yet to release a project with DJ Drama. He last released The Big 10 in December 2011, and prior to that, dropped Forever King in July 2009.

Fif is currently recording his oft-delayed fifth album, which is tentatively set for release on July 2nd.

Based on comments from his VH-1 special, “Behind The Music,” the 2005 beef that led to Game’s split from G-Unit and an exchange of gunshots outside of Hot 97 could have been much worse. Revisiting the situation seven years later, Game said the rift between he and 50 Cent reached its boiling point much earlier when the pair shot the video for his single “Hate It Or Love It.”

The video, which was orchestrated by the animation and directorial collective, The Saline Project, featured heavy use of computer-generated animation. But Game revealed that may not have been an entirely creative decision, because he and 50 couldn’t even be in the same room with each other at the time. Shortly after filming the clip, 50 took to the airwaves to publicly dismiss Game from G-Unit. The pair would eventually agree to a public truce, but not before exchanging disses and gunfire.

“Now I’m pissed,” Game recalled. “I get back to L.A., and you just broke the truce? Are you serious? I wanted to kill him for real. And I thought there was a strong possibility that I would die. I just felt like me and 50 were the modern day Tupac and [The Notorious B.I.G.], and we would have had the same outcome.”

While 50 and Game have traded the occasional diss and/or viral video since their 2005 split, there has been no more violence and both emcees remain alive. In November of 2010, Game issued an apology to 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Eminem and Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine. Watch Game’s full “Behind The Music” special below

The rapper has been forced to delay the album for the past several years, with reports it was ditched, revisited and so on, as well as continuing tension between the rapper and his label, Interscope.

Fifty’s concern has been well documented and apparent, but now it seems explicit. A fan recently asked about the work and 50 Cent responded, “I may have to fall back.”

The rumor mills went into overdrive after this, stating the whole project might be tossed or never released.
