Instead of hitting national stages with his 1995 “This Is How We Do It,”  Montell Jordan is performing from the pulpit now.

During a recent interview with LA Weekly, the singer revealed that he’s currently a pastor at a megachurch in Atlanta and only uses his musical gifts to glorify God.

“The Lord spoke to me and said ‘you got to retire, you got to lay that life down,’” he said of his epiphany in 2010. He went on to join Victory World Church with his wife Kristin.

The 44-year-old said the decision wasn’t easy, and sometimes, he even second-guessed himself. “I was scared because I knew I wasn’t one person,” he said. “I was probably fearful that me standing on stage would mean that people were going to think that I’d completely given my heart over to Him when I haven’t.”

Kristin said she encouraged her husband to walk in his purpose.

“I was part of the reason. I was his manager the whole time. When we first got married they told us we would sell more records if we didn’t let people know we were married,” she said.

There was an instance in 1995, I was on tour with Boyz II Men and I fell off the back of a stage with my hands in my ears, I fell off a stage, onto my head and I know that I should be dead. I can tell you about a time when I was recording in a studio in Los Angeles, California and two days after I decided to switch studios, murderers ran up into the studio, robbed the place and asked for me by name…It’s because of Jesus I’m alive. I have more now in Christ than I ever had when I was in the world.

Evander Holyfield has neglected his child support payments and now the five-time heavyweight champion has to pay up with his  driver’s license.

According to TMZ, a Georgia judge has given the Division of Child Support Services permission to suspended the boxer’s right to drive, after failing to pay more than $300k in child support.

In a previous case, Holyfield was ordered to pay over $500,000 for his daughter Emani Holyfield. He’s missed several payments and still owes $327,858.36, according to court documents.

Hopefully this extreme measure will be an incentive for Holyfield to pay up. His next court hearing is set for August.

Kendrick Lamar raised a few eyebrows after he released the visuals for his latest single “B**ch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” which showed the real side effects of street drug MDMA, best-known as Molly. He ended the video with a direct message to hip-hop community and fans: “Death to Molly.”

In a recent interview with MTV, the Compton-born rapper said that the fascination with this drug is not okay.

“Sometimes you have the trends that’s not that cool,” he said. “You may have certain artists portraying these trends and don’t really have that lifestyle and then it gives off the wrong thing. And it becomes kinda corny after awhile. It’s really about keeping hip-hop original and pushing away the corniness in it.”

The 25-year-old went on to say “when everybody consciously now uses this term or this phrase and putting it in lyrics, it waters the culture down.” Without mentioning rappers like Trinidad James, Tyga, Kanye West and Rick Ross, who have all made references to the drug in their music, he added, “It’s really just time to move on.”

The Dream has had his share of high-profile relationships and now the singer-songwriter wants to share some questionable love advice with the world.

During a recent interview with Sister 2 Sister, the two-time divorcé said he’s planning to write a book to show men how to “get the milk without the cow” from their significant others.

When asked if he would ever get married again, the 36-year-old said he likes the  ”idea of it.”

“I have this book I’m writing about how, as blessed as I am, how I could have a girlfriend; I could have kids with her, chill out and that’s my girl. We woo-woo-woo, whatever it is, and get all of the same things that you get when you’re married to someone,” he said. “It probably didn’t work years go, but why get married? What do they say? ‘Get the milk without the cow.’”

Dream, who once lived in holy matrimony with singer Nivea, then actress Chrsitina Milian, said relationships change after taking a walk down the aisle.

“That word ‘marriage’ changes who you are,” he explained. “Immediately you’re not that forgiving and it’s just like, ‘We fought all the time when we were boyfriend and girlfriend and we never broke up.’ You have a good fight when you’re married and it’s like, ‘I’m out of here. Peace!’ It’s like it gets more fragile when it’s supposed to be stronger.”

According to The Houston Chronicle, Kanye’s big plan to show his new video on the side of the Rothko Chapel, Central Library Downtown and the George Bush Monument didn’t happen! In fact, the cops broke up the crowds at the Rothko Chapel and told the people they were trespassing and everyone needed to leave before they were arrested!

We’re guessing if you compare yourself to Jesus Christ, some chapels may feel a way about you,  they definitely don’t want you to blast worldly music and angry videos on their walls, it sounds sort of like blaspheme, but we digress.

As we previously reported, last weekend, they showed the video for “New Slaves” on the sides of 66 buildings world wide. This was a continuation of that project. Early yesterday Ye tweeted out locations to the buildings that they would once again be showing the video for, “New Slaves” on.

 

This is a video from last weeks screening, this is what they wanted to do last night in Houston.

 

Houston singer Dominique attended the library screening last night and said;

“It was shut down due to “technical difficulties.”

 

According to fan Janet Quiroa who went to the GB Monument,

“All we saw were the sprinklers come on and obnoxious people screaming Kanye threats,”

Welp, we guess Houston wasn’t feeling the new Kanye. We’re sure this will make it into a song or a rant coming to us really soon! Stay tuned!

Now this, this one is ridiculous. We understand that times are definitely hard on the boulevard, but this is over something that literally cost $1.98 for SIX! We hope we never crave anything this seriously!
