Former Detroit Lions player Tommie Leeshay Boyd was bound over to Circuit Court today for arraignment on four counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a female student at Fraser High School.
Boyd was hired as a part-time track coach and a substitute teacher after his pro football career ended. It is alleged he had sex with the girl at a Roseville Motel in July, 2009, when she was 15 years.
During testimony at today’s preliminary hearing, the victim said Boyd offered her $5,000 to have sex with him. She testified she agreed to the arrangement because she wanted the money, but Boyd only paid her $200.
The preliminary exam was adjourned to March 24, 2010 at 1:30. The judge will hear testimony from the other alleged victim at that time.
Boyd is facing 2 additional counts of criminal sexual conduct with a student. He’s being held in the Macomb County Jail on a $300,000 cash bond.
