Young Money’s Tyga has put an end to summer feud rumors involving Taylor Gang leader Wiz Khalifa after ditching a nationwide tour with him.
Tyga briefly touched on the gossip with his newly released “Erryday.”
“Wanna know what’s up with me and Wiz Khalifa/ But me and Wiz Khalifa smokin’ reefer/ Then I’m flying private to Ibiza,” the Cali native raps on his Monday (August 18) release, which will likely be included on the upcoming The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty. His decision to not spar lyrically, but rather confirm that the two remain cool, falls in line with how each artist has been handling the situation from the beginning, actually. (MTV)
Although Wiz promised he was on good terms with Tyga, the married rapper admitted the decision threw him off a few weeks ago.
“I’m sure he’ll probably hear interviews of me saying that I thought that it was wack and he didn’t reach out. I’m the type of person, I talk to people when I want to. We cool, that’s the homie, and that was just a wack move,” Wiz said in an interview. “I felt like that was just corny, man. We’re better than that ’cause at the end of the day, you don’t say album and a movie just to sound like you got something to do ’cause I did my album before my tour and I’m shooting a movie as soon as I get home off the tour, and I got a son too. At the end of the day, what do you want to do with your life?” (Power 99)
Khalifa broke the news to his Twitter followers in mid-July.
“Tyga dropped off the tour. Sorry ya’ll.,” Khalifa tweeted July 10. (Wiz Khalifa’s Twitter)
Hours later, Tyga hopped onto his account to confirm the unfortunate news and provided an explanation.
“I wanted to be apart of tour. But I’m finishin. Up my album and filmin a movie.,” Tyga tweeted. (Tyga’s Twitter)
Excited about sharing the bill with Khalifa and Ty Dollar $ign, rapper Mack Wilds recently talked to SOHH about joining the nationwide tour.
“I think, honestly, whenever you get a bunch of artists in an area together where they happen to be confined to hear each others rhymes, beats, the only thing that’s going to be produced is art,” Mack told SOHH writer Nikita Rathod. “It’s going to be very amazingly artistic so am I trying to solidify anything? I don’t think there’s really anything to be solidified. But is there going to be music that comes out of this tour? Absolutely.” (SOHH)
