According to TheBijouStarFiles:
Well let the battle begin. Kendrick Lamar decided to take his first shot at Meek Mill during a performance in NYC last night following Meek’s diss track to him. Get the deets inside.Since Kendrick Lamar’s controversial verse on “Control” hit cyberspace he has had rappers in a frenzy trying to respond and prove to the world that Kendrick is not the new king of rap.
Well Meek Mill’s response must have caught the attention of Kendrick. Meek Mill dropped a tracked called “Ooh Kill Em” where he said:
Man you claiming you the king of New York/ What the f–k wrong with you n–ga, step backHundred shots, aim straight at your snap cap/ Everybody want the crown so I snatch thatHeard your gun go doo-dooo-dooo/ Well my gun go blap-blap-blap-blapWhat the f–k I gotta whisper to n-ggas / To earn my respect just to get to these n–gasGo Ether, Takeover or Jigga on n-ggas I really go 2Pac and Biggie on n–gasWhat the f-ck wrong with him/ Like really I’m sick of you n–gasYou’ve been in the game like a year and some change/ And you feeling yourself so I’m killing these n–gas like…
Some may say Meek’s verse shut Kendrick down and others disagree but one thing is for sure Kendrick felt it deserved a response. During a concert in NYC last night he made an obvious reference to Meek by referring to “levels” in a diss and officially kicked off what may turn into a legendary rap battle.
According to AllHipHop Kendrick said:
“I been doing this s–t for years…I mastered this s–t,. I have no time for irrelevant n—as [or] new n—as. There’s one n—a in particular that needs to realize that there’s ‘levels’ to this s–t. I’m MOTHER F–KIN’ KING KENDRICK.”
Of course the word got to Meek Mill in no time and he responded via twitter saying:
King of what? Somebody please tell me.
No word on Kendrick’s response yet but I’m sure there will be one soon. I just hope it can stay on wax and not spiral into a real beef that may have detrimental consequences.
