This is absolutely ridiculous and sad.  There is a Google Play App available called “Angry Trayvon”.

According to Hot 107.9Philly:

Angry-Trayvon-App

As you know, Trayvon Martin was the 17 year old teen who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman in Florida. The trial is underway now. Trayvon was killed February of 2012

Angry-Trayvon-Description

The game was developed by Trade Digital in December 2012 and first appeared in the Google Play store this past July 2013. The game revolves around a hooded character named Trayvon, who is a man on a “world tour of revenge on the bad guys who terrorise cities everyday.”

Trade Digital defended its stance by saying that the game was purely made for entertainment and was not cashing in on the slain teenager’s case. The post read:

“The people spoke out therefore this game was removed from the app stores. Sorry for the inconvenience as this was just an action game for entertainment. This was by no means a racist game. Nonetheless, it was removed as will this page and anything associated with the game.”

The free app was removed after it made headlines but is now put back on sale for $1.99.  I’m assuming that the company now is banking on capitalizing on all the negative publicity to boost sales of the app.  It’s a shame what people will do for money. SMH
