The High School Turnaround (HST) Associate will help coordinate and facilitate program implementation. Planning services and performance monitoring will help maintain the infrastructure of the business unit and work toward defined strategies goals that support the mission of UWSEM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Continue to build and improve upon the internal infrastructure and functional processes (systems). 2. Assist in analyzing and managing implementation of project agreements; provide support to help schools and programs achieve their goals, assure that activities are consistent with MOU objectives and criteria. Maintain regular communications with schools, local partners, and UWSEM project staff. 3. Assist the management and composition of reports detailing partner activities and progress toward goals and objectives. 4. Assist in the coordination of UWSEM investments and the implementation of school partners. 5. Participate in internal meetings on an as needed basis. 6. The Associate will be responsible for scheduling, organizing and preparing for meetings of local partners and will assist the HST Director in managing his/her calendar. 7. Help facilitate evaluation requirements among community partners as needed. 8. Assist in tracking program expenses and expediting invoices for project and contract related activities. 9. Within established guidelines, make independent decisions regarding planning, organizing and scheduling of work. Resolve most questions and problems without help. 10. Recommend changes to current practices and procedures in order to improve operations with respect to efficiency and effectiveness of activities. 11. Manage communications and flow of information between UWSEM and HST partners. 12. Work through problems using independent judgment and problem solving skills. 13. Field a high number of email communications and translate these to assignment.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in business, social work, political science, or related fields
Experience Requirements: A minimum of 2 years related work experience. The following experiences are highly desirable: researching and/or analyzing social science data, information management, composition of reports, relationship management and administrative support services. This position requires strong organizational and administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Must work well under pressure. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Candidates must have excellent customer service and relationship management skills. Must possess personal and professional integrity. Must be comfortable and effective working with diverse populations including elevated administrators (CEOs, Executive Staff) as well as program participants from differing ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Confidentiality, discretion and positive interpersonal skills are essential.
