Maybach Music Group’s Meek Mill has revealed having close ties to G-Unit’s 50 Cent and explained why he would love to see his boss, Rick Ross, rub elbows with the rap foe instead of carrying on their publicized feud.
According to Meek, his relationship with Fif dates back to the pre-fame days.
“Eh, you know, what they got going on, they grown men, it’s been going on for a long time,” Meek said in an interview referring to the rift between Ross and 50. “If I could, I would. I knew 50 before I even got signed with Ross. So, you know, when I signed with Ross, I couldn’t just act like I didn’t like 50 at all, that’d a be fake of me, so, if I could, I would. I don’t like seeing nobody I know go through anything. I don’t want to be in the middle one day and you got to choose sides or anything like that.” (“Sway In The Morning”)
Meek also said both hip-hop stars should acknowledge how much money they could generate if they placed their egos to the side.
“I had plans on doing it,” Meek added. “If I ever see them around each other and I’m there, if I’m around, there ain’t going to be no fighting in there. … It’s just MMG as for now. [Without the feud,] there’s a lot of money to get.” (“Sway In The Morning”)
Tensions flared a few weeks ago when 50 poked fun at Ross dodging gunfire down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“Nah they shot in the air then he drove into a building”@TauThabiso:@50cent Fif officer Ricky got shot?”,” Fif tweeted January 29th.
“Man they miss the whole f#cking car were they do that at ?SMSaudio”
“ok it was just firecrackers but who ever lit them in trouble cause the man damn near had a heart attack #SMSAudio” (50 Cent’s Twitter)
A few years ago, the “Boss” said he had no active beef with Fif despite a few exchanged diss records.
“That’s the beauty of art,” Ross told us. “You can take it and channel it any way you want to. Of course, I realize I put a lot of pollution out there as well that I wouldn’t this year. That was a part of me learning. I’ll forever be attracted to some form or fashion of war. I feel it’s competitive but at the same time, I’m focused on my numbers. I’m focused on my business. I’m focused on my brand. I wanna see other things blossom around me, versus back-and-forth with nothing. For the most part, I feel when you prioritize your business, that’s the result — that’s the advice I’ve been given for so long. I’m trying it out.” (MTV)
