Frank Ocean’s manager says that Target refuses to carry “Channel Orange” due to an exclusive release with iTunes.
After Frank Ocean unexpectedly released his album Channel Orange exclusively to iTunes late Monday night, retail giant Target has reportedly refused to carry the LP.
According to PrefixMag, Ocean’s manager Christian Clancy took to Twitter to declare that Target will not sell the album because it was initially released as an iTunes exclusive. He also suggests that Target’s refusal to carry the project could be due to Frank’s announcement about his sexuality, and later deleted the tweet.
“Target has refused to carry Franks album because of iTunes exclusive,” he wrote. “Interesting since they also donate to non equal rights organizations.”
Many members of the Hip Hop community including Trina, Beyonce and Busta Rhymes have supported Frank’s letter about his relationship with another man, released in the early hours of July 4th.
